Connecting a New Generation is the name for the denomination-wide decadal emphasis on children and youth. From 2002 to 2012, the Church of the Nazarene will focus on the evangelism and discipleship of children and youth. Churches have been asked to assess what they are doing for children and youth in their community and within their congregation. Children and you are the church of today as well as the church of the future. They need opportunities to participate in the church and feel accepted and loved as part of the church. Each church needs to carry out the words of Psalm 78:4: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.”
